This week, we’re excited to be celebrating Aaron Ursulak’s 7-year anniversary with Stride Capital. With over 20 years of experience in the equipment financing industry, Aaron brings dedication and expertise to help our Northern Alberta clients move their business forward. We had the chance to ask Aaron about his career with Stride, his favourite memories with the team, and opportunities he sees on Stride Capital’s horizon.
How has your role evolved over the past 7 years, and what have your growth and Stride Capital’s growth looked like during this time?
It has been an incredible 7 years to say the least! There have been so many changes in the Canadian economy that have dramatically affected my clients. I’ve seen all kinds of deals and trends where my clients are now utilizing my financial experience more as a consultant to provide financial solutions than they did in the past, when I was primarily providing equipment financing. As a company, we have really grown to work with our clients , focusing on the opportunities that arise from these challenges and working towards solutions that will help our clients have their best years ever ahead of them.
What’s one of your favorite memories from your time with Stride so far?
I was able to help a client a couple of years ago who was in serious distress due to all the governmental lockdowns and restrictions that negatively affected their business. He thought he might have to go bankrupt and was very concerned about his reputation and what that would mean for his family. We came up with a solution that wasn’t actually that difficult to undertake—simply a bit of refinancing —and we were able to provide him with some working capital to change directions in his business. This actually saved his business and his livelihood. It doesn’t get any better than that: helping real families that way.
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned during your time here?
There are real people and real families on the other side of every transaction. We not only provide financing solutions, but also help our clients build wealth by providing capital to acquire income generating assets, refinancing, consolidating existing debt, or pulling equity out of paid for equipment that they have. This really sets them up for success in so many ways in their business life and their family life.
What do you enjoy most about working with your team and contributing to Stride Capital’s mission?
The speed and ease of providing equipment financing is our greatest benefit to our customer. I love the fact that we can provide financing within a day or two that will dramatically affect our clients’ livelihoods by adding equipment or capital to their business so they can move forward with what’s in their heart to do.
How do you stay motivated and inspired after 7 years, and what excites you about the future with the company?
After over 20 years, I still can’t believe I get to do this work every day. It’s different every day and I get to interact with so many incredibly gifted, talented, brilliant, passionate Canadian business owners and truly add value to their lives. It’s very rewarding in so many ways.
