James Rowse recently joined the Stride Capital team as a Sales Coordinator – Inside Sales to support our Administration Team. We sat down with him to learn more about his previous work experience and background, what he’s looking forward to in his new role, and his interests outside of work.
Tell us about your previous work experience and education and how it led you to Stride.
I have a Bachelor of Business Administration from NAIT and have worked in a variety of positions over the last few years, including sales, retail, and non-profit. My most extensive sales role was with a sign design and manufacturing company in which I was an Account & Project Manager for four years, working with clients in multiple industries. I have personal connections working in the heavy equipment industry and when I learned about the open position at Stride, I was immediately interested in joining the team.
What are you looking forward to about your new role as Sales Coordinator for Stride?
I love the fast pace that Stride operates at, and I am very excited to be joining a growing team. I am entering a department that needs assistance and I am excited to support Inside Sales as it rapidly grows. Being a part of a department and company that has so much potential is exciting for me. I look forward to learning more about the industry and using my previous experience to bring valuable insights to the team.
What opportunities do you see as part of Stride and within this new role?
I see a huge opportunity to help the Inside Sales department expand and reach new targets as we enter 2024. There is a lot of potential and no shortage of available work, so I am hoping to provide the department with administrative and sales support so we can start to increase our volume throughout 2024 and beyond. Early on, I have learned so much and there is so much room for growth as I start fresh in this industry.
Can you tell us a bit about your experience working in a team environment, managing client relationships, and doing financial analysis?
I have always enjoyed working in a team environment. Whether it was on sports teams as a kid, working towards a degree, or in a work environment, I have always enjoyed working in teams. I look forward to working with the great team here at Stride. In my previous roles, I have had to manage several client relationships and it has always been one of the best parts of my work experience. I have always enjoyed helping clients achieve their goals and working with them to find what works best for them within their budgets and timelines. I think this will translate well as I continue in my role with Stride.
What is your life like outside of work?
Life outside of work has been very busy as of late. I recently got married in October and my wife and I moved into a new condo. We have been staying busy with unpacking and settling into a new routine. Other than that, I love sports and I try to play golf, soccer, and basketball regularly. I’ll also be getting out to the mountains to ski when I can this winter.
