Jenna Halwa has recently joined the Stride Capital team as Director of Operations, based out of our head office in Calgary, Alberta. Jenna took some time to tell us more about her previous work experience and education, why she’s looking forward to her new position and Stride, and what opportunities she sees on Stride Capital’s horizon as she takes on this role. Plus, she also gave us a sneak peek into her personal life and what keeps her busy outside of the office. Get to know Jenna better below!
Tell us about your previous work experience and education and how it led you to Stride Capital.
I have over 10 years of experience in the finance industry, having worked in both corporate and commercial lending to energy, construction, and transportation companies. Previously, I provided tailor-made financing solutions to corporate banking clients at a large financial institution. I also worked in a turnaround and restructuring group where I assisted clients in restructuring their business during tough times.
What are you looking forward to about your new role as Director of Operations at Stride Capital?
I’m looking forward to working with the sales, underwriting, credit, and operations teams to serve clients as efficiently as possible. I love seeing clients build and grow their business and enjoy doing my part to provide financing solutions to them.
What opportunities do you see as part of Stride and within this new role?
I am excited to see the new opportunities brought by the acquisition by Servus Credit Union, as well as Servus’ merger with connectFirst Credit Union. I am confident it will further enhance Stride Capital’s platform and ability to serve customers.
What would you like to accomplish alongside the Stride Capital team?
I hope to help entrepreneurs grow their business by providing best in class service and financing solutions.
What is your life like outside of work?
Outside of work, you can find me in the mountains. I live in Calgary and love getting out to the beautiful Canadian Rockies.
